Cleopatra

Cleopatra Amelia Tomasino (born March 17, 1989), known professionally as Cleopatra, is an American singer, songwriter, dancer and occasional actress, known for her androgynous costumes, provocative nature and prima donna personality.

As a child, she always dreamed of being a famous singer and dancer, with her father, music industry executive Francis Leonardo Tomasino (1957-2013) being supportive of her aspirations. Eventually, after graduating from high school, she began working part-time as a nightclub singer, before signing up with Cowbell Records.

In 2011, she rose to prominence with her self-titled debut album, the electro pop record Cleopatra (2011), sparking several chart-topping singles such as "Just Do It", "Prima Donna", and "Bombshell", and becoming a worldwide feminist icon in the process.

Over the next year or so, Cleopatra gradually succumbed to the pressures of fame, and her father died in a helicopter crash, setting off a chain of events which would result in her becoming addicted to drugs and alcohol. Her downward spiral would become a prime influence in her second album, the controversial yet commercially successful Cocaine (2013), which generated hit singles such as "Snow Storm", "High as a Kite", and "Carry Me (To A&E)".

She subsequently entered a drug rehabilitation program to turn her life around and even took a break from music, and ventured into acting, where she played a lead role in the soap opera, Lower East Side, for three seasons, winning the Drama Queen Award for Best Actress in a Leading Role.

As of 2018, Cleopatra will star in the upcoming indie drama, Oscar Bates, due for release in early 2019, and is yet to release her upcoming third album, Comeback (2019).

For her work in the pop music industry, Cleopatra has received numerous accolades, including two Millennial Music Awards, seven Mic Drop Awards and 20 Pre-Teen Choice Awards. She is also the recipient of several individual artist awards, including a Feminist of the Year Award, and one Most Illegally Downloaded Music Artist of the Year Award.
